The Missile Site Park is a fantastic way to relive national defense during the Cold War. Atlas E, the former nuclear weapons-capable installation, was built in 1961. Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming was the host military base for the Atlas E program's command and control. In Weld County, there were a total of 4 Atlas E sites. In 1965, the missile site was decommissioned and given over to Weld County. The Missile Site Park is located on the 10611 Spur 257, Greeley, Colorado area, between Greeley, Windsor, and Loveland.
